ABOUT ME

Mia Sorensen started her career at the Daily Show with Jon Stewart and Louis Theroux's Weird Weekends.  Since then, she has directed, edited, and produced commercials and promos for clients such as Sony, Mercedes, Lionsgate, Disney, Nickelodeon, Spike, Electus, among others.

 

She worked on President Obama's winning 2012 re-election campaign, as well as working for Hillary Clinton's recent 2016 bid. Her priorities have been centered around social justice and environmental issues which have led her to work with groups such as Organizing for Action, Everytown for Gun Safety, Michael Bloomberg's Mayors Against,  Avoided Deforestation Partners etc., on short form documentaries. The short film "Stop the Burning" opened COP21 accompanied by speeches from Prince Charles and narrated by Jane Goodall.

Passionate about documentary and shining light on injustices, she has worked for series like Years of Living Dangerously (Showtime), Death Row Stories (CNN), Weediquette (Vice), and New Jim Crow (Aspireist/USA)

She has also pursued her Master's in Interaction Design from the University of Wales and had published research papers and pieces on computational linguistics and haptic design (Cambridge University/Napier University), and has recently co-written a feature for Rabbit Bandini, was in final round contention for Sundance Writer's Lab, and was a quater-finalist in Final Draft's Big Break.
